Being a passionate cook, I’ve gathered an impressive collection of kitchen tools over the years. I’m excited to share these with you in a series of articles dedicated to kitchen equipment. Let’s kick things off with my newest addition: the Philips Airfryer 2000 series 6.2L.
Introducing the Philips’ 2000 Series, the newest addition to the Airfryer family. This model stands out among the more budget-friendly options in the lineup. Don’t let its reasonable price fool you, the 2000 Series brings some compelling features to the table, which we’re excited to delve into in this article.
Exploring the Design of the Philips Airfryer 2000 Series
Experience the innovation of Philips Airfryer technology, a game-changer in the kitchen that outperforms a traditional oven in many ways. It’s capable of frying food with up to 90% less fat, all thanks to the rapid circulation of hot air. This ensures your food retains a delightful crispy texture and cooks evenly. But that’s not all, the Airfryer heats up in a flash, much faster than a conventional oven, and it’s more energy-efficient too. This makes it a greener and more cost-effective choice for your cooking needs.
Experience great value with the 2000 Series, designed with essential features for your convenience. It comes equipped with predefined cooking programs and precise temperature control to ensure your meals are cooked to perfection. Plus, its compact glass window allows you to monitor your food as it cooks, adding a touch of excitement to your cooking process.
Mastering the Art of Cooking with an Airfryer
Philips has truly hit the mark with their AirFryer. It’s accompanied by a handy app and recipe books, providing a treasure trove of culinary inspiration.
The 2000 series features 13 pre-set cooking modes that allow you to set cooking time and temperature at the touch of a button. (Click to display)
- Frying
- Roasting
- Toast
- Baking
- One-pot cooking
- Pan fried
- Sautéed cooking
- Cooking frozen foods
- Reheating
- Defrosting
- Dehydration
- Gilding
- Keep warm
Besides the pre-set cooking options, the “manual” mode gives you the freedom to customize your cooking time and temperature according to your preference.
Whip up your favorite dishes using the “deep-fryer” mode of your AirFryer, and all you need is a dash of oil. This method gives your food the same golden-brown finish as traditional frying, but without the excess oil. With the AirFryer, you can enjoy delicious meals cooked with significantly less fat. To ensure your fries are evenly cooked, we suggest giving them a good stir halfway through the cooking process.
Cooking meat can be incredibly rewarding. Take chicken, for instance, it retains its succulent juiciness on the inside, making it truly delightful.
A significant improvement in the latest generation of AirFryers is the addition of a drawer featuring a window, which allows you to monitor your cooking progress. Conveniently, the light within can be easily turned on or off with a dedicated button.
In essence, the support provided for cooking with the AirFryer is meticulously planned and executed. The Philips’ HomeID app, which is accessible on both Google Play and Apple AppStore, boasts an intuitive design and provides an extensive selection of recipes. The user reviews serve as a handy guide, offering insights into which dishes you might want to try. You have the option to categorize recipes by food type, follow your favorite cooks, and more. It’s worth noting that the device operates independently of the app, meaning its use is entirely optional and at your discretion.
When it comes to the sound produced by the Airfryer while it’s cooking, I personally find it to be quite silent. To put it into perspective, my convection oven and the Cookeo Extra Crisp tend to create a lot more noise.
Choosing the Top 3 Accessories for Your Airfryer 2000 Series
Looking to accessorize your Airfryer 2000 series? Consider the XL model (6.2L). It’s a bit challenging to find accessories for the smaller model (4.2L). Given the slight difference in dimensions (LxWxH) – 368 x 273 x 293 mm for the 4.2L model versus 404 x 309 x 308 mm for the 6.2L model, the 6.2L model seems like a better choice. If you have a larger family, you might want to explore the XXL or double-drawer models as well.
Discover the convenience of AirFryer baking paper! This handy tool not only keeps your drawer spotless but also allows you to use your appliance multiple times without the need for a thorough clean after each use. What sets it apart from regular baking paper? It’s perfectly pre-cut to fit your AirFryer!
Meet your new baking companion – the silicone pastry kit and muffin tins for Airfryer XL. This versatile tool is perfect for whipping up mini cakes, crafting petite quiches, and even keeping your drawer free from pesky oil drips. I personally use the official Philips model, but don’t worry, there are also budget-friendly alternatives available. Check out some of the options below!
Pack of 4 accessories for AirFryer:
- Muffin tins
- Skewer kit for Airfryer skewers
- Silicone tray
- Small cake tin
Out of all these accessories, I have a special recommendation for you – the baking paper. I personally chose not to purchase the 4-pack as I’m not a big fan of cooking with silicone.
Wrapping It Up
As a proud owner of a Cookeo and its companion accessory, the Cookeo Extra Crisp, I spent quite some time pondering over the necessity of adding an AirFryer to my kitchen arsenal. Let me assure you, it’s not a redundant purchase. The AirFryer brings a whole new world of culinary possibilities to the table, far surpassing the capabilities of the Cookeo Extra Crisp, and all this at a comparable price.
I must say, I’ve never looked back since making this purchase and I wholeheartedly endorse it. It has become an indispensable part of my kitchen, a tool I reach for consistently during my culinary adventures. I find it incredibly versatile, using it as both a deep fryer and a compact oven. In fact, unless I’m preparing a dish too large for the AirFryer, my conventional oven barely sees any action these days.
